Portals

Your Portal, at your own domain.

Connect a domain you own, such as alexmorgan.studio. Visitors find your Portal there, with HTTPS, and your Shapppes address keeps working.

What you need

  • A domain you own, from any registrar.
  • The login of the company that manages its DNS, often where you bought it.
  • Shapppes Plus: €6 a month or €60 a year.

Someone else manages your domain? Send them this page. It’s public: no account needed.

How it works

  1. Add your domain in Settings › Domain

Type your domain and choose the address visitors see. Your Domain page then lists the exact records to add, at the company that manages your DNS.

  2. Add the records at your DNS host

Usually two records. Add them yourself, or send the instructions to whoever manages your domain. Your email isn’t affected.

  3. We check, set up HTTPS and email you

We check every minute and set up HTTPS for free once the records are right. You can close the page: we email you when your Portal is live.

How long it takes

Most domains connect within minutes of adding the records. Some DNS hosts take up to an hour to publish a change, and networks that remember an old value can take a few hours more. Your Domain page always shows what we see.

Main address or www

We recommend the domain itself, alexmorgan.studio: it’s shorter to say, type and print. www.alexmorgan.studio then sends visitors to it.

Choose www.alexmorgan.studio instead if you prefer the familiar form, which some visitors recognize more easily as a website. Either way, both addresses work and the same records serve them.

You can switch later on your Domain page without changing your records.

Don’t want www, or already use it for another website? Open Connect without www on your Domain page and add the TXT record instead of the www record. Once your domain is live, you can remove www from its addresses.

How addresses lead to your Portal
  • www.alexmorgan.studioSends visitors to alexmorgan.studio
  • alex-morgan.shapppes.comSends visitors to alexmorgan.studio
Main addressalexmorgan.studioYour Portal, with HTTPS

Already have a website on your domain? Use a subdomain such as portfolio.alexmorgan.studio instead: one record, and your website stays where it is.

The records to add

Add these records at the company that manages your domain’s DNS. Your Domain page shows the same records for your domain, with your exact values and a Copy button for each.

For alexmorgan.studio and www.alexmorgan.studio

TypeNameValueWhat it does
A@the domain itself103.133.1.1Points alexmorgan.studio at your Portal
CNAMEwwwalex-morgan-x7k2.domains.shapppes.comPoints www.alexmorgan.studio at your Portal and proves the domain is yours

The records are the same whichever address you choose as main.

For a subdomain, such as portfolio.alexmorgan.studio

TypeNameValueWhat it does
CNAMEportfolioalex-morgan-x7k2.domains.shapppes.comPoints portfolio.alexmorgan.studio at your Portal and proves the domain is yours
  • This is an example. Your CNAME value includes a code unique to your Portal. Copy the complete value from your Domain page; don’t build it from your username.

Before you save

  • Leave TTL on its default.
  • At Cloudflare, set Proxy status to DNS only.
  • Delete any other A, AAAA or CNAME record on the same names, such as an old website or a parking page: it would send some visitors elsewhere.
  • Don’t change your MX records or your nameservers: your email keeps working.
  • If your domain has CAA records, one of them must allow letsencrypt.org or pki.goog.
  • @ stands for the domain itself. Some DNS hosts want the field left empty instead; the steps below say which.
  • Sometimes your Domain page asks for one more record, for the HTTPS certificate. Add it the same way.

Step by step at your DNS host

Add the records where your domain’s DNS is managed. Your Domain page names that company: we read it from your domain’s nameservers. It’s often where you bought the domain, but not always.

Cloudflare

  1. Sign in to Cloudflare and select your domain.
  2. Open DNS › Records.
  3. Choose Add record for each record below. Set Proxy status to DNS only (grey cloud) and leave TTL on Auto.

    TypeNameValue
    A@the domain itself103.133.1.1
    CNAMEwwwalex-morgan-x7k2.domains.shapppes.com

For a subdomain, add only the CNAME record, with the subdomain as its name, such as portfolio.

  4. Delete any other A, AAAA or CNAME record on @ or www that points elsewhere.
  5. Save. Cloudflare publishes the change within seconds.

Good to know

  • A proxied record (orange cloud) hides our address behind Cloudflare’s, so we can’t set up HTTPS. Keep both records DNS only.
  • Cloudflare adds your domain for you: type only www in the Name field.

GoDaddy

  1. Sign in to GoDaddy and open your Domain Portfolio.
  2. Select your domain, then choose DNS.
  3. Choose Add New Record for each record below. Leave TTL on its default (1 hour).

    TypeNameValue
    A@the domain itself103.133.1.1
    CNAMEwwwalex-morgan-x7k2.domains.shapppes.com

For a subdomain, add only the CNAME record, with the subdomain as its name, such as portfolio.

  4. GoDaddy usually has an A record on @ pointing to its parking page: edit it to the value above instead of adding a second one.
  5. Save. If Domain Protection is on, GoDaddy asks for a verification code.

Good to know

  • If the domain forwards somewhere, GoDaddy locks the A record on @. Delete the forwarding first, in your domain’s settings.
  • GoDaddy doesn’t allow a CNAME on @, which is why the domain itself takes an A record.

Namecheap

  1. Sign in to Namecheap and open Domain List.
  2. Choose Manage next to your domain, then the Advanced DNS tab.
  3. Under Host Records, choose Add New Record for each record below and leave TTL on Automatic.

    TypeHostValue
    A@the domain itself103.133.1.1
    CNAMEwwwalex-morgan-x7k2.domains.shapppes.com

For a subdomain, add only the CNAME record, with the subdomain as its name, such as portfolio.

  4. Delete the URL Redirect Record and the CNAME to parkingpage.namecheap.com that new domains come with.
  5. Save each record with its check mark.

Good to know

  • Namecheap adds your domain to the Host for you: type only www, never the full name.
  • Records usually take effect within 30 minutes at Namecheap.

OVHcloud

  1. Sign in to the OVHcloud Control Panel and open Web Cloud.
  2. Open DNS zones, select your domain, then the DNS zone tab.
  3. Choose Add an entry for each record below. Leave Sub-domain empty for the domain itself, and end the target with a dot, as shown.

    TypeSub-domainValue
    Aleave emptythe domain itself103.133.1.1
    CNAMEwwwalex-morgan-x7k2.domains.shapppes.com.

For a subdomain, add only the CNAME record, with the subdomain as its name, such as portfolio.

  4. OVHcloud’s zone already has an A record on the domain itself, for its parking page or a hosting plan: edit it to the value above rather than adding another.
  5. Do the same for www if it already has an A or CNAME record, then confirm. Most changes show up within minutes; OVHcloud allows up to 24 hours.

Good to know

  • Without the final dot, OVHcloud adds your domain to the end of the target, and the record doesn’t work.
  • A redirection set up for your domain at OVHcloud rewrites your DNS zone: delete it before adding the records.

IONOS

  1. Sign in to IONOS and open Domains & SSL.
  2. Next to your domain, open the menu (the gear or ⋮) and choose DNS.
  3. Choose Add record for each record below. For the domain itself, type @ as the Host name, or leave it empty.

    TypeHost nameValue
    A@the domain itself103.133.1.1
    CNAMEwwwalex-morgan-x7k2.domains.shapppes.com

For a subdomain, add only the CNAME record, with the subdomain as its name, such as portfolio.

  4. If the A record of your domain belongs to an IONOS product, such as a website plan, IONOS asks you to deactivate that connection first: confirm it.
  5. Save. IONOS applies the change at once; other networks follow within an hour.

Good to know

  • When a new record conflicts with an existing one, IONOS explains how it will resolve it: accept replacing the old record.
  • Never type the full domain as the Host name: IONOS would create the record for alexmorgan.studio.alexmorgan.studio.

Gandi

  1. Sign in to Gandi, open Domain and select your domain.
  2. Open the DNS records tab.
  3. Choose Add record for each record below, and end the value with a dot, as shown.

    TypeNameValue
    A@the domain itself103.133.1.1
    CNAMEwwwalex-morgan-x7k2.domains.shapppes.com.

For a subdomain, add only the CNAME record, with the subdomain as its name, such as portfolio.

  4. New Gandi domains forward to a parking page: delete that forwarding in the Web forwarding tab so it doesn’t override your records.
  5. Save. Changes take about 20 minutes on average at Gandi.

Good to know

  • Forgetting the final dot is the most common mistake at Gandi: without it, the record doesn’t work.
  • These records only apply if your domain uses LiveDNS, Gandi’s current nameservers. If it still uses a.dns.gandi.net, switch to LiveDNS first.

Squarespace Domains

  1. Sign in to Squarespace and open the Domains dashboard.
  2. Select your domain, then DNS › DNS Settings.
  3. Under Custom records, choose Add record for each record below. Squarespace adds your domain to the Name: type @ for the domain itself and www for www.

    TypeNameValue
    A@the domain itself103.133.1.1
    CNAMEwwwalex-morgan-x7k2.domains.shapppes.com

For a subdomain, add only the CNAME record, with the subdomain as its name, such as portfolio.

  4. Delete the Squarespace Defaults records with their trash icon: they point your domain at a Squarespace site.
  5. Save. Squarespace asks for your password or two-factor code on each change.

Good to know

  • If Squarespace reports a conflict, choose Replace record: it adds yours and deletes the one in the way.
  • Domains that came from Google Domains are managed here too.
  • Forwarding rules on the domain conflict with these records: delete them first.

Porkbun

  1. Sign in to Porkbun and open Domain Management.
  2. Next to your domain, choose DNS.
  3. Delete the default records whose answer is pixie.porkbun.com: they show Porkbun’s parking page and block yours.
  4. Add each record below. Leave Host empty for the domain itself.

    TypeHostValue
    Aleave emptythe domain itself103.133.1.1
    CNAMEwwwalex-morgan-x7k2.domains.shapppes.com

For a subdomain, add only the CNAME record, with the subdomain as its name, such as portfolio.

  5. Save each record.

Good to know

  • If Porkbun says a CNAME or ALIAS record with that host already exists, a default record is still there: delete it and try again.
  • A CNAME needs a Host at Porkbun, such as www: it can’t be left empty.

Hostinger

  1. Sign in to Hostinger (hPanel) and open Domains.
  2. Choose Manage next to your domain, then DNS / Nameservers.
  3. Under DNS records, add each record below and leave TTL as it is.

    TypeNameValue
    A@the domain itself103.133.1.1
    CNAMEwwwalex-morgan-x7k2.domains.shapppes.com

For a subdomain, add only the CNAME record, with the subdomain as its name, such as portfolio.

  4. If an A or CNAME record already exists for @ or www, delete it or edit it to the value above.
  5. Save. Hostinger publishes the change right away; some networks take a few hours to follow.

Good to know

  • Hostinger lets you edit the records of a domain whose nameservers point elsewhere. Those records only work once the domain uses Hostinger’s nameservers.

Infomaniak

  1. Sign in to the Infomaniak Manager and open Domains.
  2. Select your domain, then DNS zone.
  3. Choose Add an entry for each record below. Under Source, leave the field empty for the domain itself or type www; enter the value under Target and leave the TTL as it is.

    TypeSourceValue
    Aleave emptythe domain itself103.133.1.1
    CNAMEwwwalex-morgan-x7k2.domains.shapppes.com

For a subdomain, add only the CNAME record, with the subdomain as its name, such as portfolio.

  4. Delete or edit any other A, AAAA or CNAME entry with the same Source.
  5. Save.

Good to know

  • This DNS zone only applies if your domain uses Infomaniak’s nameservers.
  • Infomaniak can’t point the domain itself with a CNAME, which is why it takes an A record.

Amazon Route 53

  1. Sign in to the AWS console and open Route 53 › Hosted zones.
  2. Select the hosted zone of your domain.
  3. Choose Create record for each record below. Leave Record name empty for the domain itself: Route 53 adds the domain for you.

    TypeRecord nameValue
    Aleave emptythe domain itself103.133.1.1
    CNAMEwwwalex-morgan-x7k2.domains.shapppes.com

For a subdomain, add only the CNAME record, with the subdomain as its name, such as portfolio.

  4. Keep Simple routing and leave Alias off: Route 53’s alias records only point at AWS resources.
  5. Choose Create records.

Good to know

  • If your Domain page asks for a TXT record, put its value in double quotes at Route 53.

Google Cloud DNS

  1. Sign in to the Google Cloud console and open Network services › Cloud DNS.
  2. Select the zone of your domain.
  3. Choose Add standard for each record below. Leave the DNS name empty for the domain itself: typing @ doesn’t create it.

    TypeDNS nameValue
    Aleave emptythe domain itself103.133.1.1
    CNAMEwwwalex-morgan-x7k2.domains.shapppes.com

For a subdomain, add only the CNAME record, with the subdomain as its name, such as portfolio.

  4. Save each record with Create.

Good to know

  • Nameservers ending in googledomains.com but no Google Cloud account? Your domain probably came from Google Domains: follow the Squarespace Domains steps instead.

Wix

  1. Sign in to Wix and open Domains in your account.
  2. Next to your domain, open Domain Actions › Manage DNS Records.
  3. Add each record below. Leave Host Name empty where you would type @.

    TypeHost NameValue
    Aleave emptythe domain itself103.133.1.1
    CNAMEwwwalex-morgan-x7k2.domains.shapppes.com

For a subdomain, add only the CNAME record, with the subdomain as its name, such as portfolio.

  4. Delete the old A and CNAME records that point to a Wix site, so they don’t conflict with yours.
  5. Save.

Good to know

  • If the domain is connected to a Wix site, deleting Wix’s records disconnects that site from it.
  • If your domain is only pointed to Wix and its nameservers are elsewhere, add the records at that other host instead.

Any other DNS host

  1. Sign in where your domain’s DNS is managed, often where you bought the domain, and open its DNS settings. They may be called DNS zone, DNS records or Zone editor.
  2. Add each record below. Most hosts call the name field Name or Host and add your domain for you: type only the part shown.

    TypeNameValue
    A@the domain itself103.133.1.1
    CNAMEwwwalex-morgan-x7k2.domains.shapppes.com

For a subdomain, add only the CNAME record, with the subdomain as its name, such as portfolio.

  3. Delete any other A, AAAA or CNAME record on the same names, such as an old website or a parking page.
  4. Save. Most changes show up within minutes.

Good to know

  • @ stands for the domain itself. Some hosts want the field left empty instead.
  • If the host shows full names, such as www.alexmorgan.studio, type the full name.
  • If the host adds your domain to the end of values that don’t end with a dot, end the value with a dot.

  2. Add each record below:

    TypeNameValue
    A@the domain itself103.133.1.1
    CNAMEwwwalex-morgan-x7k2.domains.shapppes.com

For a subdomain, add only the CNAME record, with the subdomain as its name, such as portfolio.

  3. Delete any other A, AAAA or CNAME record on the same names.
  4. Save. Most changes show up within minutes.

Send the setup to someone else

If a colleague, a web agency or your registrar’s support manages your domain, choose Send them the instructions on your Domain page and enter their email address.

What they receive

  • An email from Shapppes saying who asked, with the records for your domain at its DNS host. It confirms your email won’t be affected.
  • A link to a setup page that needs no account. It shows each record and whether it’s in place, and refreshes every 15 seconds.
  • An email when your Portal is live. You get one too.

The page shows your domain, its records and your first name, nothing more. The link works for 14 days, ends 3 days after your domain is live, and stops at once if you disconnect the domain.

To share the setup link in a message, choose Send them the instructions, then Copy link instead. To copy the DNS records as text, use Copy all above the records.

Fix a domain that isn’t connecting

Your Domain page says what it sees in one sentence. Each heading below is that sentence, word for word, written here for alexmorgan.studio, with what it means, why it happens and the fix.

Your records

We still don’t see these records at Cloudflare, where alexmorgan.studio’s DNS is managed. If you added them elsewhere, such as where you bought the domain, add them at Cloudflare.

What it means
After 30 minutes, the servers that answer for your domain still don’t have the records.
Why it happens
The records were added at a company that doesn’t manage your DNS, often the registrar when the DNS is at Cloudflare or a web host. Or they weren’t saved.
The fix
  1. Check the company your Domain page names: that’s where your DNS is managed.
  2. Add the records there and save them.
  3. Copies added anywhere else do nothing: you can delete them.

Correct at your DNS host. Some networks still see the old value for a little while.

What it means
Your DNS host has the right records, but some networks still remember the old value. We carry on meanwhile.
Why it happens
Networks keep an answer for as long as the record’s TTL says: often an hour, sometimes a day.
The fix
  1. Nothing to do: it clears on its own as the old value expires.
  2. Before changing a record you already had, lower its TTL a day ahead to make the switch faster.

We see 192.0.2.10. Replace it with the value above.

What it means
The record exists, but it points somewhere else, often your previous website or host.
Why it happens
An existing record was kept instead of being edited, or the value has a typo.
The fix
  1. Edit the record at your DNS host and paste the value from your Domain page.
  2. Save. Replace the value rather than adding a second record with the same name.

We see 192.0.2.10 on this name. Delete those records and add this one instead.

What it means
The name has an address record (A or AAAA) where it needs a CNAME.
Why it happens
Records left from a previous website, or an A record added on www instead of the domain itself.
The fix
  1. Delete the A and AAAA records on that name.
  2. Add the CNAME record from your Domain page. A name can’t have both, so delete first.

GoDaddy added your domain twice: we see www.alexmorgan.studio.alexmorgan.studio. Edit the record and enter only www as the name.

What it means
The record was created for www.alexmorgan.studio.alexmorgan.studio, a name nobody visits.
Why it happens
Most DNS hosts add your domain to whatever you type as the name. Typing the full name adds it a second time.
The fix
  1. Edit the record and type only www, or only the part your Domain page shows.
  2. Save.

This record sends some visitors to 192.0.2.10. Delete it.

What it means
Your record is in place, but another record on the same name points elsewhere.
Why it happens
An old record from a previous website or a parking page. Visitors reach one or the other at random.
The fix
  1. Delete the record your Domain page marks as Remove.
  2. Keep the record that points to Shapppes.

An IPv6 (AAAA) record sends some visitors to 2001:db8::1. Delete it.

What it means
Visitors on IPv6 networks, many phones among them, are sent to another server.
Why it happens
Your previous host added an IPv6 address for your domain. Your Portal doesn’t need one.
The fix
  1. Delete the AAAA records on that name.
  2. There’s nothing to add in their place.

GoDaddy’s forwarding or parking page is on and overrides your records. Turn it off at GoDaddy.

What it means
Your domain still shows the registrar’s parking page or forwards visitors elsewhere.
Why it happens
Many registrars park new domains or forward them by default, and some keep doing it after you add records.
The fix
  1. Turn off forwarding and the parking page in your registrar’s domain settings.
  2. Check that the A record on @ still has the value from your Domain page.

Cloudflare’s proxy is on for this record. Switch it to DNS only so we can secure alexmorgan.studio with HTTPS.

What it means
Cloudflare answers with its own addresses instead of ours, so we can’t see your record or set up HTTPS.
Why it happens
New records at Cloudflare are proxied (orange cloud) by default.
The fix
  1. In Cloudflare, open DNS › Records and edit the record.
  2. Click the orange cloud so Proxy status reads DNS only (grey cloud), then save.

HTTPS

alexmorgan.studio only allows HTTPS certificates from digicert.com. Add the CAA record below so we can issue yours.

What it means
Your domain has CAA records that name the authorities allowed to issue its certificates, and ours isn’t one of them.
Why it happens
CAA records are often added by a previous host or by a security service.
The fix
  1. Add a CAA record on the domain itself, with the value 0 issue "letsencrypt.org".
  2. Keep your other CAA records: they keep working for their own services.

Your records are right. HTTPS is on its way, usually in under a minute.

What it means
Everything is in place, and we’re setting up the HTTPS certificate for your domain.
Why it happens
A certificate can only be issued once your records point at us.
The fix
Nothing to do. If it takes more than an hour, we email you.

We couldn’t issue the HTTPS certificate yet. We’re retrying automatically. Check the messages below before changing any DNS records.

What it means
Your records are right, but the certificate authority refused or hasn’t answered yet.
Why it happens
Usually a CAA record, a DNSSEC problem or a record that changed during issuance; sometimes a delay at the authority.
The fix
  1. Check your Domain page for another message, such as CAA or DNSSEC, and fix it first.
  2. If nothing else shows after an hour, write to us at developer@shapppes.com.

Your domain

alexmorgan.studio isn’t registered, or its registration has expired. Renew it at your registrar.

What it means
No company answers for your domain on the internet.
Why it happens
A typo in the domain, a registration that expired, or a purchase that isn’t finished.
The fix
  1. Check the spelling on your Domain page.
  2. Renew the domain at your registrar, or finish buying it. Once it’s active, we pick it up within minutes.

alexmorgan.studio’s DNSSEC settings are broken, so browsers can’t find it. Turn DNSSEC off where you bought the domain, or ask them to fix it.

What it means
DNSSEC signs your domain’s records. Its keys don’t match, so networks refuse to answer for your domain.
Why it happens
Usually after moving DNS to a new host while the registrar still has the old host’s key.
The fix
  1. Turn DNSSEC off in your registrar’s domain settings.
  2. Once the domain works again, you can turn DNSSEC back on from your DNS host, which gives the registrar the new key.

We couldn’t reach the DNS servers of alexmorgan.studio just now. We’ll keep trying.

What it means
The nameservers listed for your domain didn’t answer our checks.
Why it happens
A short outage at your DNS host, or nameservers that belong to a host you no longer use.
The fix
  1. Wait a few minutes: we check again on our own.
  2. If it lasts, check at your registrar that your domain’s nameservers are those of your DNS host.

alexmorgan.studio is connected to another Shapppes Portal. If it’s yours, you can claim it.

What it means
Another Shapppes account connected this domain first.
Why it happens
You connected it from another account, or someone else did, perhaps before the domain was yours.
The fix
  1. Choose Claim it, then add the records your Domain page shows: they prove you control your domain’s DNS.
  2. Once we see them, the domain moves to your Portal and the other account is told.

After it’s live

Not reaching your Portal · Since 31 October, 14:02, alexmorgan.studio points to 192.0.2.10. Visitors who use alex-morgan.shapppes.com still reach your Portal.

What it means
Your domain was live, but its records changed and it no longer reaches your Portal. Your Shapppes address shows your Portal meanwhile.
Why it happens
The records were edited or deleted, the domain moved to a new DNS host without them, or its registration lapsed.
The fix
  1. Open your Domain page: it shows the record that changed and what to put back.
  2. Restore the value. We check again within minutes and email you when your domain is back.

HTTPS on your domain

HTTPS is automatic and free. Once your records are right, we set up a certificate for your domain, usually in under a minute, and renew it before it expires. There’s nothing to buy, upload or renew.

A certificate proves to browsers that the site at your domain really is yours, and encrypts the connection: visitors see the padlock instead of a warning.

If your domain has CAA records, one must allow letsencrypt.org or pki.goog. How to add it

Change, disconnect or move your domain

Change to another domain

Choose Change domain in the menu of your Domain page and add the new one. alexmorgan.studio keeps working until the new domain is live. Then we disconnect it: links to the old domain will no longer open your Portal. Update any links you’ve shared.

Switch between www and the domain itself

Choose the main address on your Domain page whenever you like. Your records stay the same.

Disconnect your domain

Choose Disconnect. Visitors to your domain no longer see your Portal, which stays live at your Shapppes address. Your registration and your email don’t change, and we send you an email to confirm.

Then delete the records

Once disconnected, delete the records you added. Left in place, they keep pointing your domain at servers shared with other sites; deleting them keeps it entirely yours. If you plan to reconnect soon, keep them: reconnecting then takes seconds.

Move your domain to another DNS host

Changing registrar or DNS host? Add the same records at the new host before switching nameservers, and your Portal stays reachable throughout. Your Domain page follows the move.

Move it to another Shapppes account

Disconnect it from the first Portal, then add it from the other account. If you can’t disconnect it, add it anyway: change its records to the values your new Domain page shows, which name your Portal and so prove the domain is yours. It moves once they’re in place.

If Plus ends

Your domain goes on hold: visitors to alexmorgan.studio are sent to alex-morgan.shapppes.com, where your Portal stays live, until Plus is back.

Your domain settings are kept and your records can stay as they are. Rejoin Plus within 30 days and your domain is live again at once; later, it reconnects by itself within minutes.

The cancellation dialog and email remind you of this before anything changes.

Questions

Does my email keep working?

Yes. You only add web records. We never ask you to change your nameservers or your MX records, and we never read or change your email records (MX, SPF, DKIM, DMARC).

I don’t have a domain yet. Where do I get one?

From any registrar, such as Cloudflare, Gandi, OVHcloud, Namecheap or Porkbun. Shapppes doesn’t sell domains. Once it’s yours, add it in Settings › Domain.

Can I connect more than one domain?

One domain per Portal, with its www twin. You can forward other domains you own to it from their registrar.

Should I use the domain itself or a subdomain?

Use the domain itself (alexmorgan.studio) when it’s free for your Portal. If it already has a website you want to keep, use a subdomain such as portfolio.alexmorgan.studio: it takes one record, and your website and email stay as they are.

Can I use a domain with accents or other scripts?

Yes. Type it as you write it, such as café-morgan.fr. Some DNS hosts show it in its encoded form, starting with xn--: it’s the same domain.

What do visitors see?

Your Portal at your domain, with the padlock. Your Shapppes address and the other form of your domain, with or without www, send them to it, so old links keep working. Your profile, share links and search engines move to your domain too.

Do I keep my Shapppes address?

Yes, it always works. While your domain is live, it sends visitors there; if your domain ever stops working, it shows your Portal itself again.

Does it cost extra?

It’s included with Shapppes Plus: €6 a month or €60 a year. You pay for the domain itself to your registrar.
